THE GLAMORGAN COUNTY TEAM
Latest News from the County Team:
12 of Glamorgan’s best archers travelled to Deer Park Archers ground to compete in the Gloucestershire Archery Association Western & Welsh Inter-Counties tournament.
Everyone shot excellently considering the very tricky gusty wind conditions and extremely high level of competition.
With many close matches in the head-to-heads it came down to the Barebows to decide the final match of the day. Which turned out to be the most exciting and the closest final possible (the judges had to measure how close to the Gold the arrows were) Elaeth (Castle Bowmen) and Victoria (Blandy Jenkins Archers) came away with a well deserved 1st place Gold.
In another victory Kathy (Castle Bowmen) with her teammate Nick (Cambria Archers) shot very well for the Longbows to take home a 3rd place Bronze.
All the team enjoyed the day, despite the wind, and agreed it was a great day and loved the team spirit shown throughout the day.
THE ANNUAL INTER-COUNTY TOURNAMENTS
Since 2008 when the WAA inter-county tournament was devised, and Glamorgan came a magnificent 2nd place, the county team has done extremely well every year. Glamorgan has won the trophy 10 times (more than any other county), and never came lower than 2nd every other time
